Santa and the cow

On the way into town, there is a shop which has a model cow outside. It seems fairly life-size, and is painted black with white spots. I have no idea why she’s there (I’m going to assume she’s a she, as she’s a cow…), but there she is, right beside the main road.

To mark the festive season, she’s been given a sleigh, with an inflatable Santa in it. There isn’t much room behind her, so the sleigh is uncomfortably close. So close, in fact, that were she to poop (unlikely, I admit, as she’s not a real cow), Santa would be very unhappy.

This really is something which needs to be seen to be fully appreciated, but as I’m usually driving as I go past, I haven’t managed to get a picture yet. I’ll try and get one so you can all admire her.

Anyway. Today we were stuck in traffic, and had plenty of time to admire this festive tableaux as we crawled past. There was a slight breeze, which set Santa to gently bopping to and fro.

The thing was this. The breeze was making Santa rock back and forth. Right behind the cow. On the sleigh. The resulting effect was that it looked like Santa was doing something unspeakable to the poor old cow.

How’s your Christmas going? Have you seen any dodgy Christmas decorations lately?

Kiwi, just returned home after 17 years in the UK. Feminist, wife, mother to 2 daughters. Strongly opinionated and very vocal. I'm wicked through and through.
